Meet Our Pastor

Rev. Thomas E. Smith, Ph.D. is a minister of Word and Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). Ordained in 1986, he has served as the pastor of the Presbyterian Chapel of the Lakes in Angola, Indiana continuously from that date.

Additionally, Rev. Smith has served as an adjunct teaching assistant in philosophy since 2002 for Trine University, Angola, Indiana. And finally, since 1997 Rev. Smith has provided mediation services as a peacemaking ministry on behalf of the social justice needs of children in divorcing families on behalf of the several courts of northeast Indiana.

Rev. Smith holds professional licensure in the State of Indiana as a Clinical Social Worker, as a Marriage and Family Therapist, and is also a registered Family Law Mediator. He is a Fellow of the American Association of Pastoral Counselors and a Member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.

Rev. Smith has been married to Diane (Lewis) Smith since 1978 and they make their home in Orland, Indiana. They have five (5) children and eleven (11) grandchildren.
